Two cute cookies in the kitchen

Madeline and her friend, Morgan, (L) watch as this month's Kids Cooking class begins. The theme was breakfast foods. This is the girls' second class, and they learned how to make scrambled eggs with ham plus three different kinds of fruit smoothies. I'm going to recruit Madeline to breakfast duty, since my morning specialty is limited to cereal and whole-wheat toast! Classes are held Saturday afternoons in the ugly but serviceable 1960s addition that joins the gorgeous, historic former Aberdeen junior and senior high school buildings.
